Description
Let’s Knit a Hat!
2 Day Workshop
Sunday, February 9 (1-3pm) & Sunday, February 16 (1-3pm)
Instructor: Tina Fischer
Adults ages 16+
In this class for knitters who already know the basics (how to cast on, how to knit and how to purl), we’ll knit a seamless hat, in the round, using first a circular needle and then double-pointed needles to finish the top of the hat. We’ll learn how to knit your hat using accurate measurements/gauge so that it fits, and how to coordinate working with double-pointed needles (which are essential for knitting small items that won’t need to be seamed afterward: sweater sleeves, socks, small hats, children’s items). Maximum class size = 10.
Students should bring:
A soft yarn they would like to use for a hat, heavy worsted or aran weight, 170 yds. (gauge: 16 stitches = 4 inches)
One 16” circular needle, US size 8, and one set of double-pointed needles, size 8.
Members: $40 (Non-Members: $46)
