Superhero and Character Design

Grades 2 – 6
Wednesdays, September 30 -  November 4, 2020 (3:45 - 5:15pm)

In-person class at River Tree Arts
Instructor: Jefferson Coniaris  (view Jefferson's art on Instagram)

This class is full. Please add your list to the waitlist as spots may open up.

In this class we will go over a brief history of superheroes and the character design of some popular characters; a lot of pop culture iconic cartoons and comics did not start off as we know them today. From there, each illustrator will design their own character (superhero or otherwise), and explain their process on how they came to be. The class will explore different mediums to make their creation “come alive” (pen, pencil, paper, found materials, ink, collage, etc.).  Original characters will be presented in a critique style to class in the form of character in background, character model sheet, and character in short comic strip/doing some activity.

Members: $165  /  Non-Members: $178
